Richard
M.
Gabor
is a partner in the law firm of
Gabor
&
Marotta
LLC
in New York City. His main
areas of practice include business and tax planning, estate and
family planning, real estate,
bankruptcy, commercial litigation, and business valuations.
Mr.
Gabor
graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelors of Science in
Accounting in 1976. He earned his law degree at the University
of Miami in 1979, and has studied tax law under a master's program
at
New York University School of
Law.
In addition to being a trusted tax attorney and trial attorney,
Mr.
Gabor is also a
CPA
and
maintains a dynamic accounting practice,
Gabor
& Associates, with
over 1500 clients in the New York City metropolitan area. He is a
former partner of the downtown Manhattan firm Patrusky, Mintz & Semel,
whose offices were destroyed on September 11, 2001.
Mr.
Gabor
has been providing tax counseling and estate and trust planning for his
clients for over 30 years. His expertise includes the
preparation of wills, trusts, gift and estate tax returns,
IRS audits
and criminal investigations,
elder law planning, limited liability companies, and partnership/shareholder agreements.
He is also a trial attorney with
experience in
trust and estate litigation, business and partnership
disputes, divorce, bankruptcy and real estate. He also acts
as a qualified Intermediary in Section 1031 tax deferred
commercial real estate transactions on behalf of attorneys and their
clients.
Mr. Gabor is a member of the
Richmond County Bar Association, and the Elder Law Section of
the New York State Bar Association.
He is also a
member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
Mr. Gabor advises attorneys and certified public accountants regarding
business valuations in connection with matrimonial litigation, disputes
among shareholders and partners, and estate planning.
